About the Lab:
Rootwork is a four-week improvisation practice and movement series open to dancers and movers at any stage.
Each session weaves somatic principles through structured improvisation and body-based listening to help you de-pattern habitual movement and find your authentic voice.
The series builds week to week with a cumulative arc:
Week One: Begins with an honest look at where your practice lives right now.
Week Two is about disruption: Turning off the brain and the conditioned patterning, initiating something.
Week Three: Opens into artistic investigation playing with intention and following impulses.
Week Four: Brings us back to the beginning to close the process and to notice how differently you arrive.
This work is as much about self-knowledge as a dance skill and less about drilling technique.
You'll leave with tools to keep developing your artistic voice: more articulate as a mover, more confident in your choices & more willing to take up space.
